4 May - Relaunched ... Im coming back, wish me luck

Dear Shape Magazine

Re Weight Loss Challenge

I would like to put myself forward for consideration for the Weight Loss Challenge. I commenced the New Year full of new healthy plans and lifestyle commitments - bootcamp 3 times a week with OFC, enlisting the help of a Dietician - Andrew Pickering, and a Life Coach for Emotional Eating - Emily Cheyne. I was doing well for nearly 3 months and then I had a vitamin D injection which hit a nerve and since end of March I have been inactive with a weak and damaged right leg. I am on mild blood pressure medication since January and I am determined to reduce my weight and get fit to reduce this BP and come off the tablets, all in time for my 40th birthday next year. My challenge is to look younger at 40 than I did at 30, through a healthy change to my lifestyle, for life.

My height is 173cm and current weight is 100.7kgs (weekly weigh in this evening) and I am hoping to be 99.9kg by this Friday when I do my first tandem Sky Dive jump on my 39th birthday. By doing this amazing challenge, I will know I can do and achieve anything. My top priority is to get my life back and live my 20s and 30s in my 40s as I lost a lot of those years due to being overweight. These next 12 months are the most important months of my life so far.

My 3 reasons for being an excellent choice for your Weight Loss Challenge and for me to ditch the kilos are :

  1. I represent many female, single expats in the UAE who need motivation and someone who can positively influence their decisions to get fit, lose weight, lower their blood pressure and feel good about themselves; too many of us hide behind a variety of "happy masks", most commonly known here as Friday brunches. I need to do all of the above, and if I can positively influence others at the same time that would be a bonus
  2. I have already commenced my healthy lifestyle and fitness programme, and despite a set back as a result of the nerve damage to my right leg, I am looking for an extra push of motivation - being photographed and followed in your magazine will give me no excuses to fail. So far this year I have lost 8kgs but behind my goals, winning this competition would be a major reward for my struggle and achievements so far this year
  3. I have a great sense if humour, I would be easy and fun to interview and lots to say - check out my blog, which I need to restart again after since my injury - www.fatexpatdxb.blogspot.com, and what better way than to re-launch this blog by winning your Weight Loss Challenge. I also have a pair of fabulous 80s retro roller skates ready and waiting for my first photoshoot

Please find attached my photos, and I very much look forward to hearing from you soon.
